I think the only software that could do such a thing is ODeus ASIO Link: trying to combine my RME Fireface UC ASIO driver and the ReaRoute ASIO driver into one virtual interface so I can have the ReaRoute outputs in Maschine. using ReaStream (comes with ReaPlugs) in Maschine to send the audio Reaper as a ReWire slave cannot access the audio interface, do you think there is maybe a trick to do it anyway?
This works nicely for VST instruments - MIDI gets sent to Reaper, audio comes back - but I'd like to use Playtime with my guitars also. I use Maschine 2 standalone as my "DAW" for my live looping setup, there I have my Maschine Mk3 with its displays and knobs to do almost everything without having to touch the mouse: mixing, loop recording, changing plugins and their parameters.īut Maschine does not support MPE and I also really like Playtime for Reaper, that's why I combined Maschine with Reaper (run as a ReWire slave with a little help from Bidule VST), tempo sync is also dead easy this way.
It would be interesting to be able to make a comparison between various app as VB-Audio solutions (VB Cables or different Voicemeeter versions), Asio Link Pro (this is already dead), Jack4Win (hard to set up), Synchronous Audio Router, VAC with Asio4All (because VAC alone not have Asio support), Dante software only solutions (Via and VSC), DDMF Virtual Audio Stream, and others. The different apps handle audio have various problems especially latency and crackles. Many Windows midi routers needs installation of other tools (as bonjour) or are 32 bit (Midi Yoke), but is about audio stream and sync the problem. I think that on Mac the problem is limited or non-existent because they have several solutions well integrated into the os (i don't knows Mac world), but on Windows only a few of these apps handle both audio and midi, many handle only one or the other. Link by Ableton is a solution for bpm sync but it does not allow the flow of audio-midi data from one application to another, (or i am wrong? I don't use Ableton. Click to expand. The problem is to find a good alternative that allows different audio-midi apps to communicate, allowing free audio-midi flow while keeping them in sync.
